<B>1861-D G$1 --Plugged, Bent--NCS. XF Details.</B></I> Variety 12-Q. The 1861-D is the rarest gold dollar. An estimated 1,000 to 1,500 pieces were struck, some by the Confederacy. This piece is bright from cleaning and shows slightly porous surfaces.
