CSA Coinage 1861 Confederate States of America Restrike Half Dollar. Breen-8002. PCGS graded Mint State 61. <b>More weakly struck at the center shield than the Mint State 63 example, but nevertheless a respectable example of this oddity. The maker, coin dealer J. W. Scott, claimed he used genuine 1861-O half dollars for his "planchets" which he then struck using the original CSA reverse die he owned. Mintage was 500.
