<B>1861 3CS MS67 PCGS.</B></I> This Superb Gem example has normal "coin-turn" die alignment, unlike the other similarly graded example in this sale. The digits in the date show slight doubling on this piece, but this is not one of Breen's doubled date varieties. Other parts of the obverse also show slight doubling, and it is a result of machine or strike doubling rather than a blundered die. This piece has frosty silver luster beneath deep gold, russet, and steel toning.
