<B>1861 3CS MS67 PCGS.</B></I> The present sale has two Superb Mint State examples, and this one is housed in an older green-label holder. These pieces, both certified by PCGS, are tied for the finest graded by that firm. They also represent opposing die alignments, as this piece has the reverse rotated 180 degrees from normal, presenting a "medal-turn" die orientation. It is a brilliant silver specimen with frosty luster that is accompanied by a nearly invisible splash of pale gold toning.
