1861 $20 MS64 NGC. Uncommonly sharp with a bright, frosty appearance and satiny, sparingly abraded fields. This issue's mintage of nearly 3 million pieces is the highest among Type One double eagles and the heavy production accurately forecasts its relative availability up to and including lesser Mint State grades. However, the unflagging popularity of this Civil War issue has always quickly absorbed the existing supply. Choice and better 1861 twenties such as this lustrous example represent only a small minority of Uncirculated survivors. Census: 20 in 64, 10 finer (11/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
