<B>1860 Stephen Douglas " Intervention" Token</B></I> Listed as Sullivan-Dewitt SD 1860-22; measures 20mm across. The obverse of this piece features a bust of Douglas to quarter right. The inscription around reads: "Stephen A Douglas". The reverse inscription around is: "Intervention Is Disunion 1860"; enclosing M.Y.O.B., with a star above and below. Beaded border on both sides. The dies for this token were cut by George Lovett of New York who did numerous tokens during this period. The "M.Y.O.B." likely stands for "Mind Your Own Business".
