1860-S G$1 MS63 PCGS. Only 13,000 coins were produced in this, the second to last year of gold dollar production at the San Francisco Mint. Survivors are scarce in all grades and nearly on par with the preceding four S-mint issues in terms of overall rarity. This frosty, well-produced example is tinged with reddish patina and would probably qualify as Choice except for an unobtrusive pinscratch on the left side of the obverse. Population: 6 in 63, 3 finer (2/08).

Coin Engraver: James B.
