<B>1860 P$5 Five Dollar, Judd-272, Pollock-320, Low R.6, PR64 Red and Brown PCGS.</B></I> The obverse has a bust of Liberty facing right, wearing a cap ornamented by three stars. A ribbon at the base of the bust is inscribed LIBERTY. Around the periphery, there are 13 stars and below, the date. On the reverse there is an eagle and shield with olive and arrows in the claws. The beak holds a ribbon inscribed E PLURIBUS UNUM. Around, the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA with the denomination FIVE DOLLARS below. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. These patterns were struck on ten dollar-sized planchets as part of an anti-counterfeiting effort.
