1860 New Model Army Revolver Belgian Reproduction
Featured in this lot is a Belgian revolver based off the Colt black powder series model 1860 single action Army Revolver chambered in .44 cal percussion. The revolver features an 8" barrel, 6-shot cylinder, walnut grips, brass trigger guard, blade front sight, and hammer notch rear sight. This was one of the most widely issued and popular revolvers of the Civil War, with many, if not most, going to the West after the war for Indian Wars or frontier service. It has matching numbers on the trigger guard, frame, and barrel. This revolver is in excellent overall condition. The frame, trigger guard, and barrel are marked with matching serial numbers and come with the original box. The revolver displays wonderful condition with tight mechanics and blue'd patina. The top of the barrel is marked "1960 NEW MODEL ARMY" with CAL. 44 and import stamps across the side of the barrel and frame. The bottom of the grip is marked with "MADE IN BELGIUM". The piece shows good working mechanics and light wear across the finish. Serial Number: 677. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
