1860 Liberty Seated H10C NGC MS66
1860 Liberty Seated Half Dime. NGC graded MS66. Fabulous quality and overall surfaces. The coin has fresh white mint luster projecting through the lightly dappled, all original toning. Surfaces are virtually abrasion-free. Finally, the coin's major devices were struck with systematic exactness throughout. Designs for the new (to 1860) "legend obverse" half dime and dime were by the mint's chief engraver, James B. Longacre, who included his famous cereal wreath on the reverse.

The handsome Longacre "cereal wreath" comprising cotton, tobacco, sugar cane, corn, wheat and oak leaves. This is the second design of a cereal wreath created by the Mint's chief engraver, 1844-69. Longacre's first "cereal wreath" which is used on the flying eagle cents, the gold dollars (type 2 and 3) as well as the $3 gold pieces, is comprised of corn, wheat, cotton and tobacco but without the sugar cane or oak leaves (PCGS # 4377)
