1860 Henry rifle, .44 rimfire caliber, heavily used and dark patina finish, serial #5891. The left sideplate is stamped in period block letters “John R. Wyatt.” which is neatly stamped and genuine to the period. The buttstock is also stamped with a similar stamp, and the center portion of the stock is carved with the initials W.K. with accenting carving around it. The barrel shows light to slightly heavy scattered pitting and erosion, the heavier pitting is occurring near the end of the muzzle and on the magazine. The barrel address is good and legible as is the serial number. The gun shows a dark patina with some dings, dents, and mars, hard use and exposure to the elements. The barrel shows an original to the period well-made large v-notch sight, and the front blade has been slimmed to match this sight. The buttplate is matching, the stock has been heavily reworked to fit this rifle and was replaced during the period of use. Several screws are replaced. The frame shows a dark patina, many small dings, mars, scratches, some darkening and some mars around the hammer port area and some prying to the sideplates. There are some mars on the floorplate on the area of the lever and the
