1860 H10C Transitional MS64 PCGS. Judd-267, Pollock-315, R.4. In this year the Mint moved the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA legend from the reverse to the obverse, replacing the "original" 13 stars. The so-called Transitional patterns bear no reference to the country of origin. On the Judd-279 Transitional, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA has been removed from the reverse, but the 13 stars remain on the obverse. The strike is soft in places, with several of the stars hollow and an unstruck area on Liberty's left (facing) arm. Roller marks show on Liberty's thighs. On the reverse, the left side of the bowknot and the large oak leaf nearby show a lack of detail. Steel-gray surfaces show glints of orange and blue iridescence under a light.
From The Twin Hollows Collection, Part Two.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
