1860-C $2 1/2 MS61 NGC. Variety 19-J. The strike is above average. The eagle's talons and leg feathers are not completely brought up, but display decent sharpness. A couple of shallow mint-made strike-thrus on the reverse field do not distract. The luster is both satiny and mildly reflective. The obverse is moderately abraded for the grade. A scant 7,469 pieces were struck for the 1860-C, the last quarter eagle issue from the Charlotte Mint. Mint State examples are scarce, and coveted by Southern gold specialists. Census: 6 in 61, 5 finer (11/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
