<B>1860-C $2 1/2 AU58 NGC.</B></I> Variety-19-J. The 1860-C is the last quarter eagle from the Charlotte Mint, and as such is quite popular. Douglas Winter (1998) says it is scarce in any grade, and most examples are seen in Very Fine and Extremely Fine grades. This AU58 specimen displays bright yellow-gold surfaces with ample luster. A sharp strike brings out nice definition in most of the design elements, save for the usual weakness in the eagle's leg feathers. Light to moderate marks are noted, especially on the obverse.
