1860 Army Colt, .44 caliber percussion, US Martially marked and inspected, wood grips, serial number “42360”. This civil war period martial army remains in very good plus to near fine original condition. The barrel shows approx. 60-70% original blue, evenly thinning and toning with some light erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. There are a few storage type bumps and mars and a few dings near wedge port barrel on right lug barrel. The barrel address is sharp and the original polish lines are showing around the front sight. The cylinder shows 10-20% evenly thinning blue finish, 75-85% original cylinder scene just starting to go light with clear engagement dates at front edge of cylinder. The cylinder shows all of its original six safety pins. The frame shows 80-90% original case hardening that is still colorful and vibrant in some areas. The hammer and lever show 40-60% case hardening, darkening and toning naturally. The backstrap shows 50% original blue. The grips are replaced from another Colt Army and are slightly undersized with no cartouche and are in fair to good condition with typical scratches, dings, mars, and normal wear. All matching visible serial numbers, crisp edges, excellent interior with bright bore. A strong civil war martial army with what appear to be period or arsenal replace grips. Est: $4,000 - $8,000
