1860<10C> MS64 PCGS. Fortin-108, low date. The premier P-mint issue of the Legend Obverse type, the 1860 is a more difficult coin to locate than the original mintage of 607,000 pieces might imply. It is especially elusive in near-Gem and above condition. This example has frosty surfaces with swirling luster, and just a touch faint tan color at the reverse periphery. The design elements are sharply struck, including nice definition on Liberty's head. There are no contact marks to report, just a minute fleck at 9 o'clock on the obverse rim. Fortin states, "Examples from this obverse die are seldom seen and have proven to be elusive in higher grades."
