1860 $10 Clark, Gruber & Co. Ten Dollar XF40 NGC. K-3, R.5. The sizeable obverse die crack (as struck) at the right rim is not among those breaks mentioned by Don Kagin in his 1981 book on Territorial gold coins. There are a few planchet flaws (also as produced) from 1 o'clock to 3 o'clock on the obverse rim. A smattering of light and moderate abrasions pepper olive-gold and reddish-copper colored surfaces. The wear is evenly distributed throughout, and all major design elements are suitably bold. This is a pleasing circulated representative of this elusive Colorado Territorial issue. Listed on page 302 of the 2003 Guide Book. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
