1859-S S$1 MS62 PCGS. Formerly offered as lot 6502 in our June Long Beach Sale, where it was described as, "The premier Silver Dollar from this branch mint, the 1859-S was produced to the extent of 20,000 coins. Most of these were exported and subsequently melted, and even high grade circulated survivors will set one back several thousand dollars. Uncirculated examples are even rarer, with few coins grading above the present level of preservation. There is some hallmark striking softness over the reverse portrait, but all other features are bold, if not sharp. The number of distractions is few for the grade, but a pinscratch through the top of Liberty's portrait and a scrape in the left reverse field are noted for accuracy. A pleasing example, nonetheless, with a delicate overlay of steel-gray and pastel colors." Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
