<B>1859-D $5 Medium D AU55 NGC.</B></I> Variety 36-CC, as usually found on this low mintage issue, since the Large D (Variety 36-EE) is rare. But the issue as a whole is a low mintage one, with only 10,366 examples coined of both varieties. This example offers attractive orange-gold and reddish-gold surfaces that are only lightly abraded, with considerable prooflikeness remaining. The strike is somewhat soft on the central highpoints, as is typical for the issue.
