Lustrous greenish-gold surfaces retain nearly full brilliance on both sides, and exhibit sharply struck design elements, save for the usual softness on the eagle's legs. This is a remarkable example of the date, one of the scarcest in the entire series of Dahlonega Mint gold coins. This issue was the last quarter eagle produced in Dahlonega, with a limited mintage of just 2,244 coins.
