1859-D $2 1/2 AU55 PCGS. Variety 21-M. Though Winter (2003) notes that this final-year Dahlonega quarter eagle issue is more available than its mintage might suggest, the production of 2,244 pieces still yields only 120 to 140 survivors today. The radiant yellow-gold surfaces betray slight softness on the portrait and eagle, and the peripheral elements are generally sharp. Light wear appears on the highpoints, while the fields have a number of light, wispy marks that preclude an even higher About Uncirculated grade. Population: 22 in 55, 31 finer (3/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
