<B>1859 50C Liberty Round 50 Cents, BG-1002, High R.4, MS66 Prooflike NGC.</B></I> Die State II, obverse rusted and shattered. Pebbly die rust shows around much of the obverse, while a small raised planchet flake is noted before the bust truncation. Massive die breaks and bulging appear in the area above the coronet and through the nearby stars. The obverse die failure is undoubtedly the explanation for the scarcity of this issue in higher grades.
