<B>1859 25C PR65 NGC.</B></I> A minor proof set from 1859 would have contained the one-year copper-nickel Indian Head, Laurel Wreath cent, plus the trime, half dime, dime, quarter, and half dollar. The Mint recorded 800 minor proof sets for 1859. (Gold proof sets, with a much higher cost and face value, were sold separately, in much smaller numbers.) This luscious Gem Seated quarter boasts iridescent blue, amber, and gold toning on the well-struck surfaces. A few light hairlines are noted in the reverse field above the eagle. The left line of the fourth stripe travels upward to the second horizontal shield stripe.
