1859 1C PR65 PCGS. As a first-year issue that also represents a one-year type, the 1859 holds a place of honor in the hearts of the numerous collectors who specialize in Flying Eagle and Indian Cents. The proof variant of this issue has a reported mintage of 800 pieces, although we suspect that some of these coins may have been melted as unsold. This solidly graded Gem has come down through the years with virtually mark-free surfaces. True, there are a few wispy carbon flecks, but we stress that none of these features are out of context with the PR65 designation. Razor sharp throughout with olive-tan color that assumes a pinkish-tan sheen over much of the obverse. From the Colburn Collection. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
