1859 10C Transitional PR65 PCGS. The coin without a c
1859 10C Transitional PR65 PCGS. The "coin without a country," produced at a time when the Mint, under the directorship of James Ross Snowden, was moving the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA from the reverse to the obverse, eventually also eliminating the stars on the obverse from the final design adopted. Technically a pattern (Judd-233), but often collected along with the regular issues, and listed in the Guide Book, increasing its popularity with collectors. Here the stars are still present, but the reference to the fatherland is absent. Silver-lilac centers meld into iridescent blue and magenta at the peripheries. Population: 2 in 65, 2 finer (11/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
