February & March 1858-Dated, Lot of Two, Historic Imprints regarding Kansas Admission Proposals To The Union by Congress, Very Fine.
Two (2) Imprints of complete speeches from the Congress titled, “Speech of the Hon. Robert B. Hall, of Massachusetts.” March 27, 1858, measures 9.5” x 6”, 8 pages and “Report of the Select Committee, Made in the Senate of Pennsylvania, Upon the Admission of Kansas, February 24, 1858.” measures 8.75” x 5.75”, 6 pages, regarding the pro and con of allowing Kansas to become a member State of the United States. Each Imprint show some expected light even ton and is complete. Both are debates concerning the Admission of Kansas as a State, and the proper process that must be met first. These include; a new Constitution, and the formation of a Territorial Legislature. Giving the dates that these conditions be fulfilled... the men who want the Territory to be on “Slave Soil,” and those who want the Territory as a “Free Soil” state. condition of each...both quite good.
