1858 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-203,
1858 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-203, Pollock-247, R.5, PR65 PCGS. Snow-PT18, Die pair 1-A. Assistant engraver Anthony C. Paquet is credited with the obverse flying eagle device, which is smaller in scale and differently styled than Longacre's issued version. Thin, tall letters in UNITED STATES OF AMERICA fit Paquet's style, seen on the Type Three three cent silver and the famous 1861-S double eagle. The reverse features a broad oak wreath without a shield. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. Struck from moderately rotated dies. Pastel-red and gold hues adorn smooth surfaces. Minor carbon is present, and the reverse rim has small nicks at 9 and 10 o'clock.
From The Madison Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
