1858 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-191, Pollock-234, R.7, PR64 PCGS. A transitional pattern that combines the regular dies, Small Letters obverse from 1858 with the laurel wreath reverse of 1859. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. The otherwise honey-tan color yields to off center swirls of orange tinted iridescence in the centers. Both sides are sharply impressed, and a few wispy carbon flecks in the upper obverse field are all that seem to bar this attractive pattern from an even finer grade. A lintmark (as struck) is seen at the top of the eagle's left wing. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour.
