<B>1858-O $10 AU58 NGC.</B></I> Examples of this issue are seldom found in grades above AU or so, and Mint State pieces are exceedingly elusive. This near-Mint State specimen displays considerable semiprooflikeness over untroubled, pristine surfaces. In combination with the attractive greenish-gold coloration they create <I>eye appeal, </B></I>that most elusive and indefinable of all numismatic qualities. While both sides show numerous small abrasions in the fields, the only one that requires singular mention is a small, metal-moving scrape on the reverse under ED of UNITED, and none of them dampen one's enthusiasm for this lovely and conditionally rare piece.
