For your consideration is this 1858 Map of Public Survey Progress of KS and NE. The condition of this public survey is pristine and in display/ museum quality condition. The Public Land Survey System (PLSS) is a way of subdividing and describing land in the United States. All lands in the public domain are subject to subdivision by this rectangular system of surveys. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is responsible for regulating and maintaining the PLSS. This is a PLSS from 1958 in the territories of Nebraska and Kansas. From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman which was both part museum and gallery. The frame this map is shown in is set in Plexiglas which preserves the authenticity of the piece by also preserving the color and parchment the map is drawn out on. The measurements of this public survey map are 31" x 21 1/4".
