1858 G$1 MS67 NGC. Due to a respectable mintage of 118
1858<G$1> MS67 NGC. Due to a respectable mintage of 118,000 pieces, and its status as a product of the Philadelphia Mint, the 1858 gold dollar is a nondescript issue in circulated grades. In Mint State, however, this date is surprisingly elusive, and NGC has seen just this one Superb Gem. The blemish-free features are fully lustrous with a softly frosted, nearly satiny texture. Wispy die clash marks are noted in the obverse and reverse fields. Both sides are aglow with original golden-rose patination. A lovely and technically unimpeachable gold dollar. Census: 1 in 67, 0 finer (7/06).
From The Derrick Snider Collection.
