1858-D $5 Liberty. NGC graded MS-60. Well struck with a hint of lovely gold toning on both sides. Lustrous surfaces with attractive brilliant highlights. Possessed of a soft and subtle strike, with high, rounded rims; the central details are comparatively sharp for the date and grade. Some stray marks are noted, none of them overbearing in appearance. From the scant mintage for 1858-D of 15,362 coins, there are few Mint State specimens known today, in fact, few known above Extremely Fine. A popular attraction from the Dahlonega Mint in any rare coin auction.

Date logotype fairly large and nicely punched into the die, bottom of 1 twice the distance from dentils as top is from truncation, left edge of lower serif over center of dentil. Pop 1; 9 finer. (PCGS # 8278).
Estimated Value $9,000-10,000.

Our item number 88272
<IMAGES>

</IMAGES>
