<B>1858<$5> MS62 PCGS.</B></I> The Liberty half eagles from 1858 through 1860 saw low mintages, in this case a bit more than 15,000 pieces. This is a generally appealing and well-produced example of this elusive issue with good peripheral details, but softly struck on the arrow feathers and correspondingly on the obverse, on Liberty's highpoint hair. The surfaces are lustrous yellow-gold, with some russet on the lower reverse at the rim. A couple of surface ticks are noted in the left obverse field. Population: 2 in 62, 9 finer (9/06).
