<B>1858 3CS MS65 NGC.</B></I> This is the final year of the Type Two design, recognized by the double outline around the large obverse star. Type One coins have no outline and Type Three coins have a single outline. We are not aware of any past nomenclature that has been presented to give these pieces more descriptive names. Since the outlines add to the size of the star, perhaps the three types could be called Small Star, Large Star, and Medium Star respectively. This Gem is a pleasing piece with no toning on either side.
