1858 $3 AU55 PCGS. This attractive example retains much of its original luster, with just a hint of wear present on the devices. The amber-gold fields have a number of small, scarcely distracting handling marks, as one might expect for the grade. This issue consists of just 2,133 pieces, a mintage figure characterized by Garrett and Guth as "monstrously low." Karl Stecher, Sr. purchased this piece for $7.00 from E.K. Washburn on December 1935. An envelope with the inscriptions "1858 $3.00 v.f. E.K. Washburn Dec 1935 $7.00" included.
From The Stecher Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
