<B>1858 25C MS66 PCGS.</B></I> Although the 1858 quarter is considered common in terms of extant examples in all grades, high-end pieces are irrefutably challenging to locate. The public's motivation to hoard silver coinage diminished following a reduction in the silver content of minor denominations, commencing with the issues of 1853, and coinage of this era circulated freely. The finish on this piece is uncommonly lustrous for a coin from the 1850s. Mostly brilliant, a few streaks of grease (as made) are seen on the lower obverse and there is a bit of light brown color on the reverse. Fully struck.
