<B>1858 1C Large Letters MS66 NGC.</B></I> High Leaves, Closed E in ONE. This is a beautiful Premium Gem, flawlessly struck with lovely reddish golden-tan coloration and remarkably preserved surfaces that are clear of even the tiniest disturbance. An interesting die crack, unmentioned in Snow, extends from near 5 o'clock on the obverse rim onto the eagle's right (facing) wing. Essentially carbon-free, this piece seems nearly unimprovable for the issue. It is actually surprising to note that two coins have been graded a full point higher: one each by NGC and PCGS. Even the most advanced collector of Flying Eagle cents would be lucky to own this bewitching example. Census: 25 in 66, 1 finer (6/07). <BR><BR><B>Coin Engraver:</B> James B.
