<B>1857-S $5 MS61 NGC.</B></I> This low mintage issue saw heavy use in the West Coast channels of commerce, and remains scarce today at every grade level. Just 16 examples have been certified in Mint State, by NGC and PCGS combined, and several of those were "survivors" of the <I>S.S. Central America</B></I> shipwreck. This piece is well struck with somewhat muted luster and variegated lime-gold and pink-rose coloration.
