<B>1857-S $20 Spiked Shield MS65 PCGS. CAC.</B></I> Ex: <I>S.S. Central America</B></I>. Variety 20A. SSCA 0327. This lustrous Type One twenty has sun-gold toning near the rims, and a dash of peach patina near the chin. A hair-thin mark is seen between star 3 and Liberty's mouth, but the surfaces are generally smooth. Shipwreck recoveries of the <I>S.S. Central America</B></I>, the <I>S.S. Brother Jonathan</B></I>, and the <I>S.S. Republic </B></I>are responsible for most of the high grade Type One double eagles seen on the market today.
