Only minor grazes on the portrait deny an even higher grade. Crisply struck and highly attractive. Both the captain and cargo of the <I>S.S. Central America</B></I> went to the bottom of the Atlantic, but the double eagles were rescued from the depths more than a century later by maritime adventurer Tommy Thompson. <BR><I>From The Hamburg-Sonoma Collection.</B></I>
