<B>1857 S$1 PR62 PCGS.</B></I> A pleasing example with moderate steel-gray patina, somewhat milky in the fields, and good underlying flashes of proof luster. A circular area of stain is noted to the left of the eagle's head on the reverse. Although the exact mintage from the two die pairings of this year is unknown, it is estimated that between 50 and 100 pieces were struck.
