<B>1857 $3 MS63 PCGS.</B></I> Pleasingly detailed for this earlier three dollar gold issue with vibrant luster and hints of wheat on the straw-gold surfaces. Lightly clashed on each side, a typical feature, with scattered, wispy abrasions that account for the grade. Despite its status as one of the more available issues for the denomination, the 1857 is a condition rarity in MS63 and exceedingly elusive any finer, with just three such coins graded by PCGS (10/07).<BR><BR><B>Coin Engraver:</B> James B.
