<B>1857 $3 AU58 NGC.</B></I> A gorgeous example, this satiny and sharply struck near-Mint coin has deep honey-gold color blended with splashes of lighter yellow. Traces of wear on the highpoints are evident along with a few faint hairlines on both sides. The 1857 is considered a common date in the series, yet it would be a rarity in most other series. Rarity is a relative term, as NGC and PCGS have combined to certify 138 Mint State pieces.
