<B>1857 25C MS66 PCGS.</B></I> This lovely coin, from the last year that the large cent was minted, shares the Slanted 5 style of some of those late-date cents. This piece is brilliant silver with a tinge of golden-gray on each side. The reverse shows many diagonal die striations running from lower right to upper light in the fields, the result of zealous die polishing. A few stray ticks, seen under a loupe in the obverse fields, are undistracting. A popular pre-Civil War type coin, from the enormous mintage for the time approaching 10 million pieces, sharply struck, and certified in a green-label holder.
