1857<1C>--Obverse Clashed From a Seated Half Obverse--MS64 NGC. FS-003. Snow-9. One of three different fascinating multi-denomination die clashes on 1857 Flying Eagle cents. The other varieties are Snow-7, with obverse clashes from a double eagle obverse, and Snow-8, which shows clashmarks on the reverse from a Seated quarter reverse. 1857 was the first year of large-scale small cent production, and this presumably contributed to the mint die pair blunders. This lustrous piece has a decent strike, and displays blended orange and ivory-gray toning.
