1857 10C PR64 Cameo PCGS. Only a single die marriage is known for this rare, early proof, and it is most easily identifiable by repunching on the flag of the 1 in the date. The Mint did not record the exact number of proof Dimes produced in 1857, but we can assume that the total was limited. The present survivor combines a silver-gray reverse with a golden tinged obverse. There is appreciable contrast between the sharply defined devices and the shimmering, glassy fields. Free of mentionable hairlines with an identifying strike through (as produced) in the obverse field below the lower left side of the 8 in the date. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
