1857 1/2 C PR64 Brown PCGS. B-2, C-1, R.4. Attributable by the doubled T in CENT, and originally used in 1856. This date comes in two varieties, on light planchets and heavier ones. The plastic encasement, of course, makes it is impossible to determine which this piece is. The surfaces have a lovely iridescent sheen with significant underlying red beneath the cobalt-blue seen on each side. The fields are also deeply mirrored and shine brightly through the toning. Fully struck, as one would expect, and defect-free.
