1856-S<$20> MS63 PCGS. A very pleasing coin for the grade with bold luster throughout, and a sharp strike on the devices. Remarkably clean for this date, with minimal signs of handling. Furthermore, this coin likely spent the last century and a half on dry land, and was not part of the S. S. Central America shipwreck or the more commonly seen "seawater" coins which were recovered from a different shipwreck and is thus unlike most other mint state survivors of this issue. Liberty's cheek is pleasing with just a few scuffs and nicks, and the eye appeal is outstanding for an early Type One double eagle.
