1856 N-14 R1 Italic 5 PCGS graded MS64 Red & Brown, CAC approvedFrosty light bluish steel brown with nearly 20% of the mint red remaining, mostly on the obverse. There is a spot of darker toning hidden in the hair above the inner curl and a nick-like planchet chip on the coronet above the B in LIBERTY (as struck). MDS, die state b, with the usual strike weakness at the top of the obverse that left tiny planchet chips around stars 6-7. Our grade is MS62. The attribution and Goodridge Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label.Certificate Number: 406211.64/27391408Pedigree: Ex Kagin's GENA Sale, 10/14/1983:1182-Carvin Goodridge Collection-Goodridge Estate, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Goldbergs 6/2/2013:648-Fred H.
