<B>1856 50C MS65 PCGS.</B></I> Despite a respectably high mintage of 938,000 pieces, this issue is "Rare in mint state," according to Wiley and Bugert. The untoned surfaces display a pleasing, effulgent sheen that is very bright and satiny. The striking details are soft on about half of the obverse stars, as well as on the eagle's left (facing) leg, left talons, and on the arrow fletchings. A tiny nick is noted on Liberty's chin, and a pair of faint pinscratches are observed in the upper left reverse field.
